Hilton West Palm Beach Celebrates Grand Opening with Exclusive Party

Lifestyle Hotel in Downtown West Palm Beach Celebrates Official Grand Opening

Hilton West Pam Beach celebrated its official grand opening, with more than 400 people at a dazzling, South Beach-style party on its expansive pool deck that was converted into an outdoor oasis. The event wowed the crowd and effectively reset the standards for the convention center hotel experience in South Florida. The evening scene was illuminated by strings of Tivoli lights, floating fires in the pool, breathtaking ice sculptures that cooled exquisite food and beverage displays, all wrapped in the music of local DJ and hotel sound curator Adam Lipson. Guests enjoyed close to a dozen food stations including seafood, BBQ from a Grillworks wood-fired grill, salads in mason jars hung artistically on a chain link fence, mouth-watering desserts and craft beers were served on tap from a frozen ice sculpture.

As the evening progressed, up and coming Miami-based performers, Javier Garcia and Keba Williams kept the energy upbeat and the 1980’s cover band Spazmatics performed in the ballroom. Guests mixed and mingled with leadership from Related Companies including Stephen Ross, Chairman, Jeff Blau, CEO, Kenneth Wong, COO, Kenneth Himmel, CEO of Related Urban, Bruce Warwick, Vice Chairman, Gopal Rajegowda, managing partner of the hotel development and Jorge Perez, Chairman of Related Group. Hilton Worldwide executives also attended the event including Joe Berger, President Hilton Americas, Ted Ratcliff, Senior Vice President of Hilton Worldwide and Leslie Pchola, Area Vice President Southeast Region. Elected officials and staff from Palm Beach County and the City of West Palm Beach were also present to celebrate their collaboration on this remarkable, forward-thinking hotel. Guests included key local partners who deliver unrivaled hotel experience and programs: Matthew Byrne, hotel signature chef and former private chef of Tiger Woods; Kate Cerasaro, owner of Rabbit Coffee Roasting Company; Olivia Figueroa, Hilton West Palm Beach fitness guru; Halle Frey, flower stylist of Flower & Fringe, Christopher Leidy, photographer whose underwater prints are displayed in Manor; and Holly Weston of Haute Yoga.

“Although built by Related and managed by Hilton, this hotel truly belongs to West Palm Beach,” said John Parkinson, general manager of Hilton West Palm Beach during his remarks. “We now have a world-class hotel with some of the best local vendors and partners that make this experience authentic, delicious and memorable. This truly is an unconventional convention center hotel. We know it’s going to become as popular with locals as it is with convention goers. The crowd’s reaction tonight is a pretty clear endorsement of that prediction!”

The new 12-story hotel adds unparalleled ambience, service and a farm-to-fork culinary experience. Featuring 400 guest rooms and 44 suites, Hilton West Palm Beach was designed by Miami-based architectural firm Nicholas Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates and Dallas-based interior design firm Looney and Associates. Connected to The Palm Beach County Convention Center via an enclosed walkway, the property offers more than 24,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, as well as two 2,400-sq. ft. expansive lawn spaces for weddings, special events and fitness programming.

Related Companies also developed CityPlace, directly across the street. The 72-acre mixed-use destination of shops, restaurants and entertainment venues was created in 2000 through a public/private partnership with the City of West Palm Beach. Hilton guests can enjoy access to more than 60 specialty retail shops, a distinguished collection of restaurants and bars and an open-air plaza with a distinctive water feature with dancing fountains.

“Hilton West Palm Beach has already been embraced by locals, visitors and group bookers alike and we are thrilled with the reception we have received. With the vast array of lifestyle amenities, signature offerings, modern design and convenient location directly connected to a convention center and across from CityPlace, the Hilton West Palm Beach is truly a unique offering for the area,” said Gopal Rajegowda, Vice President of Related Companies. “It’s also a key component of the original CityPlace master plan and its potential is already being realized. Since the hotel opened three weeks ago, the convention center has already experienced more bookings and significantly heightened interest from groups around the country.”
