WINE AND DINE AT DOWNTOWN WPB HOT SPOTS FOR THE FOURTH ANNUAL ‘PAIRINGS’ EVENT

Downtown West Palm Beach residents and visitors will have the chance to experience the finest flavors of Downtown West Palm Beach during its fourth annual “Pairings” event. This progressive tour will take place on Thursday, May 28 featuring a wide variety of delicious samplings from some of downtown’s most desirable restaurants and retailers other exciting activities. Guests can enjoy an extensive selection of light appetizers, entrées and desserts paired with specialty cocktails, wines, coffee and special offers. The event is brought to you by the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) in partnership with SunFest. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Historical Society of Palm Beach County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and furthering the education and appreciation of Palm Beach County history and heritage.

This year’s event features over 25 participants offering guests the chance to dine, sip and shop from 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Patrons can indulge in dishes and drinks that range from Mama’s Meatballs paired with a traditional Italian cocktail and Negroni from Lynora’s Osteria, to peanut butter oatmeal bars and brownies served with fresh brewed coffee from Subculture Coffee. Leila Restaurant’s menu will include chicken skewers and a refreshing pomegranate mojito; Clematis Pizza Heaven will offer chicken marsala and pizza with wine; and E.R Bradley’s Saloon will serve Bahamian conch fritters topped with spicy aioli sauce paired with a Bahamian pussers rum painkiller. Other participating restaurants and cafés include Bar Louie, Café Sweets Bakery, Don Ramon, Dunkin Donuts, Hullabaloo, Hookah Inn, Rise and Grind Café, Off the Hookah, Longboards, O’Shea’s Irish Pub, Starbucks Coffee, Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar and Ganache Bakery Cafe.

Pairings patrons can purchase advance tickets online at www.downtownwpb.com for $25, or by visiting the DDA office located at 301 Clematis Street, Suite 200. On-site tickets can be purchased the day of the event for $30 at the ticket booth in the City Hall Courtyard located at 401 Clematis Street. Tickets include entry and sampling at each of the participating businesses and a map showcasing location.

From one bite to the next, Pairings patrons can take advantage of other activities, experiences and special offers. Palm Beach Dramaworks will be offering 50 percent off tickets to its newest play “Lady Day” opening May 15; Pioneer Linens will be welcoming shoppers with a surprise complimentary gift while supplies last; and The Sanctuary Salon and Spa will be offering a complimentary spa service and discounted products. While hopping from shop to shop, guests can enjoy street performers and live entertainment by acoustic piano rag and roll trio Screaming J’s; violinist and DJ Timothee Lovelock; as well as blues master Mister Trombone. Live Art Classes will also be taking place for those feeling creative. After dining on a variety of culinary delights throughout the evening, guests can stop by Run & Roll to receive 10 percent off shoes and apparel and head to Ultima Fitness Downtown to enter a membership raffle giveaway and receive free gym trial passes to work off the food from Pairings. Other participating stores include Liberty Bookstore and Palm Beach Segway Tours.
