EAT PALM BEACH | BUTCHER SHOP WPB

I joined a wonderful group of media at the new Butcher Shop Beer Gardens and Grill last week. We decided to sit outside in the beer garden under bistro lightings at a long picnic table. The vibe was relaxed and the weather stayed cool enough to enjoy the evening al fresco.

We started off the meal with a table full of shared starters. I love a good pretzel and the German Pretzel covered in sea salt, served with a side of cheese sauce and sweet Bavarian mustard, was everything I wanted it to be. We also got an order of the Polish Pierogies, both the simple potato and cheese variety available all the time as well as the daily special which was a Chicken Pierogi. They come four to an order and were perfectly prepared, boiled and then pan fried. The Ahi Poke plate featured a mound of sushi grade tuna tossed in a house made poke sauce with a daikon and carrot slaw. I like that the menu features a few lighter options and was also eyeing the Roasted Beets Salad.

The table shared a heaping Charcuterie Board with Georgian Salami, Capacola, Smoked Pork Loin, with a rotating option of cow’s milk cheese and goat cheese, Kalamata olives and tomato jam with sliced toasted ciabatta.

For an entree we shared the Assorted Sausage Platter with German-Style Beer Bratwurst, Chorizo, Jalapeño Cheddar Pork Sausage and Lamb and Feta Sausage served with toasted ciabatta and pretzel buns. I went Beer Brat on a Pretzel Bun and that was a good decision. We accompanied them with the Kaese Spaetzle, which is an egg pasta with cheese and bacon similar to Mac and Cheese, and the Brussel Sprouts, which are served sautéed then flash fried with a brown sugar and sea salt coating. The Sweet Potato Fries were hand-cut with a honey dill mayo dipping sauce.

The beer and drink menus have a great selection and I’ve even raving about their Moscow Mule ever since. They also offer a variety of local beers which is always good to see.

Inside the look and feel is cool with an industrial feel, butcher block and barrel tables, metal stools and a full butcher case with cuts of beef, poultry, sausages and more. I left with some chicken cutlets so my mother in law was a happy camper.

If you haven’t been, I definitely recommend a visit. Grab a drink, a bite or some butcher shop meats to go!
