EAT PALM BEACH | FRENCH WINE MERCHANT

I visited The French Wine Merchant with a group for a wine tasting. The shop is very classy and elegant with walls of wine and wooden crates lining the perimeter. There is a small bar in the shop and seating just outside in the courtyard of the Paramount Building. There was classical music playing throughout our visit which set a nice tone for the evening.

While the majority of the wines are from France, they do carry a selection of wines from Italy, Spain, Austria, New Zealand, and some other areas. We tasted 8 wines – 4 red, 3 white and 1 sparkling.

Being a specialty wine store on the island, I was pleasantly surprised by the price points following the tasting and took home the Les Anges Sauvignon Blanc of Loire Valley France.

Monsieur Maurice was incredibly sweet and accommodating. His knowledge of wine is obvious and I love that he has brought this concept to the island.

The French Wine Merchant offers wine tastings on Fridays from 6:00-8:00pm. Price varies depending on what wines are served and how many.
