EAT PALM BEACH | CITY TAP WPB

We visited City Tap this Saturday for Brunch. A newer addition to the CityPlace lineup, I was excited to see this space brought back to life. I’ve always loved the outdoor bar area and was pleasantly surprised with the changes made to the interior. One stand-out is the bar area with a huge wall of TVs, perfect for gameday viewing.

We were seated in the main dining room which is spacious and open but cozy with natural elements. Being Saturday they were serving their Brunch Menu. They also had an amazing looking Mimosa and Bloody Mary Bar in the bar area with a huge spread of mixers and ingredients.

At the recommendation of our server we started off with the Maplebrook Farms Burrata. It was delicious! The burrito was fresh and creamy and paired so well with the mashed english peas, prosciutto and lemon oil. It was served to spread on grilled bread and is something I think I’ll have to order every visit.

Something I immediately noticed and appreciated was the Kids Menu. As a new(er) mom I have taken notice which restaurants put effort into their offerings for kids and this was one of my favorite menus I’ve seen. We went with the Hummus and Flatbread, served with raw celery and carrots and sliced avocado. I love having my daughter enjoy healthy foods and have tried to give her a good start to eating right. This meal was perfect for her (plus, I knew she’d be picking from our plates as she’s quite the foodie already).

After eyeing the menu I had just about committed to the Shaved Roast Pork Sandwich when my husband claimed it. I did sneak a bite which was pretty tasty with garlic broccolini and a pepper aioli.

I think I won as I opted for The Big Chick. A Southern fried chicken breast served on a buttermilk biscuit, topped with bacon and a fried egg and doused in sausage gravy it was a bodacious meal. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the flavors blended so well and created an amazing comfort food dish. The breakfast potatoes were just how I like them with a crisp bite and soft interior. I don’t get to brunch often, so when I do I like to go all out.

With a name like City Tap House, we figured it was only fitting to order a beer. We went with the Ballast Point Sculpin which was awesome. They had a good selection and with the bar setups I can definitely see this being a popular spot to grab drink or catch a game.

If you haven’t been I recommend a visit!
