EAT PALM BEACH | DUFFY’S SPORTS GRILL
Duffy’s is a locally started chain that’s made it’s way around SoFla. The locations I frequent are NPB – PGA Blvd @ US1, Downtown WPB – Clematis Street and (sooometimes) PBG – Northlake Blvd.
Duffy’s is the perfect spot to catch a game. Like any game. Or fight. Or whatever. They are TV-tastic with all the bar foods your heart could desire and 2-for-1s all day every day (or whatever the special is, though I’m pretty sure that’s right).
The NPB location is within a couple miles of my house so it is the easiest and best location for gameday. They have a large bar in the front with tons of tables, a dining area with more televisions, and a back area that feels like it may be floor to ceiling TVs all being held down by the large bar in the middle of the room. The even put little pennants on each TV so you know where to sit to make sure you see your team.
So why do we ever trek down to Clematis? Because Brian puts on amazing Trivia every Tuesday night at 8pm and we are regular champions.
Anyways…
One of the things I missed most while living in Charlotte was Duffy’s wings. They are breaded, with the perfect amount of sauce, which is the perfect level of hot as far as I’m concerned (Order: “10 Wings, Traditional, Original“). They come with celery, so if you’re looking for fries make sure to throw that on there. Also very popular is the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich – same concept, on a bun.
Obviously they have Burgers. It’s a sport grill. Surprisingly, they have a good Turkey Burger*. This is not an easy feat, but it’s become a go-to when I’m trying to be healthy with a side of beer. They also have awesome Blackened Mahi Tacos*… actually a bunch of tacos, but those are definitely my favorite. They’re not a huge meal, but you get 3.
If you have a group and want some finger foods I recommend the Margherita Flatbread*, with Chicken, the Potato Skins which are loaded and sliced into nice slivers to share, or the Tex-Mex Chicken Egg Rolls.
At lunch they have a Lunch Specials Menu which includes the Double Play, which is a soup/sandwich/salad combo situation and a pretty good deal. They also offer take-out and catering for parties.
