March’s Mixology Competition The Shake Up Returns to Benefit No Kid Hungry
20 restaurants, bars and breweries across Palm Beach County support cocktail fundraising event
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, local eateries are once again mixing things up all March long with The Shake Up cocktail fundraising competition. The Shake Up pits select and inspired beverages from twenty of the county’s top restaurants, bars and breweries against one another throughout the month, with the goal of raising the most funds for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, while building anticipation for Palm Beach’s Taste of the Nation at the Kravis Center on Thursday, April 20.
During the month-long promotion participants will not only compete to raise the most funds for the charity (through sales proceeds), but also to secure two coveted spots to show off their skills, utilizing Crop Organic Vodka, Farmer’s Organic Gin and/or Michter’s Rye, in the bustling foyer bars at this year’s Taste of the Nation. From March 1-31, patrons and participants are encouraged to use hashtag #ShakeUp4NKH to drum up support for their favorite competing concoction, and also to increase awareness for the campaign’s efforts to connect kids with the healthy food they need.
This year’s confirmed venues include the 2016 fundraising winners Avocado Grill and Max’s Harvest, along with Café Chardonnay, City Cellar, Costa Palm Beach, Dada, all Eau Palm Beach restaurants (Angle, Breeze Ocean Kitchen, Stir, Temple Orange), Grato, Hilton WPB, Ian’s Tropical Grill, Jardin, Jove Kitchen & Bar, Okeechobee Steakhouse, PB Catch, Pistache French Bistro, Shake Shack Boca Raton, The Cooper and The Regional. The 2017 winning restaurants will be announced in early April.
Palm Beach’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry is supported by national presenting sponsors Citi and Sysco, national sponsors Food Network and OpenTable, and local sponsors Breakthru Beverage, Mike Sipe Entertainment, Virginia Philip Wine Shop & Academy, Events on the Loose, Pumphouse Coffee Roasters, ALTON, VOSS Artesian Water from Norway, Panache: A Classic Party Rentals Company, LibbyVision.com, iHeart Media, The Palm Beach Post, EatPalmBeach.com, LocalDines.com, Brickhouse PR, Elan Creative Communications, JLM Communications and Mariani Marketing & Events.
