EAT PALM BEACH | SANDPIPER’S COVE

We visited Sandpiper’s Cove (Members Only) for lunch this week and I was totally blown away. First off, I knew it was at least partly private due to its location within the gates of Old Port Cove, however I did not know that it was open to outside membership.

Walking up, I was already excited just checking out the boats in the marina and seeing the beautiful views. If you like waterfront, this is your place. Inside, I instantly fell in love. The restaurant has a nautical theme that gives you the feeling of being on a yacht with wood paneling and shades of blue and sand. The Wheelhouse Lounge dining room has the main bar while the back area hosts the Sand Bar with high tops and a TV for a more casual feel. Both have gorgeous views of the Intracoastal and the entire place is bright and airy.

The offerings of this restaurant are phenomenal. I was sold on a membership before my entree arrived. For an annual fee you are welcome to dine at Sandpiper’s Cove along with your guests and can dock your boat or have a bite delivered to you from the Ship Shop. They have various events from Italian Night, to Brunch to Girls Night Out to Football Parties, you name it. They also have banquet space for private events and weddings up to 100 people, offer catering services and have Sandpiper’s Express which opens at 8am. Not to mention, they host a daily Happy Hour from 3-7pm.

I could go on forever (as I’m seriously signing up), but instead I’ll share the link to their Membership info HERE!

On to the food!

We started off with the Conch Chowder and Firecracker Shrimp small plate. The chowder was awesome. It had the right amount of spice and was hearty and delicious. The shrimp dish had a great presentation, an Asian flare and was fried and tossed in a creamy spicy sauce.

For my meal, I went with the Fish & Chips. The New England style cod was soft and flaky and the breading wasn’t too heavy at all. The fries were thick cut which I love as it makes them more potato-y. The hush puppies were moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I’m personally a sucker for sweet cornbread, but these were more savory and paired well with the meal.

The Surf & Turf Burger must be a fan favorite because this thing was delicious! A steak burger topped with lobster, swiss cheese and lobster bisque with a grilled shrimp garnish, the presentation was spot on and the flavor was perfection.

I feel like Sandpiper’s Cove is one of the best kept secrets in Palm Beach County. I can see myself sipping a glass of wine in the Wheelhouse Lounge or Sand Bar every day staring at those views. The atmosphere is inviting, the service is great and the food is thumbs up across the board.

Normally, I would recommend a visit – and pronto – but I guess in this case I’ll recommend reaching out about a membership or checking them out during one of their events open to the public (ex: Girls Night Out) listed on their EVENTS PAGE.

Seriously, look into it. You’ll thank me later.
