EAT PALM BEACH | BRICKTOP’S
We visited Bricktop’s for dinner for our wedding anniversary last night. We used to love their Charlotte location for date nights so it felt like a nice throwback to when we first got engaged and married.
I really like the atmosphere of this location. The dining room is modern but elegant and the bar is very lively and crosses over between the interior bar area and outdoor patio.
We were initially seated in the dining room, but requested to sit in the bar area as my husband is a devout Rangers fan and Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals was scheduled to start mid-meal (this is why he loves me so much). They were very accommodating.
The dining room is lovely with white linens and a neutral palette. The bar area was smaller and energetic with groups of patrons around the large indoor/outdoor bar enjoying cocktails and carrying on.
We started with the Grilled Artichoke appetizer. It was cooked perfectly and served with this delicious garlic aioli. I had a glass of the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and the hubs went with the Oberon Cabernet Sauvignon.
For dinner, I ordered the Oven-Roasted Organic Chicken with the Kale and Quinoa Salad. The chicken was to die for. It was so tender and moist and the au jus was a great accompaniment for dipping here and there. The salad was the big surprise for me. I had pictured more of a quinoa salad with strips of kale but it was a bright green plate with bits of quinoa and grapes and sunflower seeds. It was crisp, light and refreshing. I loved it and had to basically lick the plate clean.
The Mr. went with his usual and favorite, the Baby Back Ribs with Fries and Cole Slaw. Their ribs are fall of the bone and he really likes their BBQ sauce as it has a kick to it. The fries are shoestring which I have to steal a few of and in all honesty he hates cole slaw, but gets it so I can slide it onto my plate – because they make a great slaw! It’s light with the perfect amount of crunch.
We both eyed the dessert menu due to the Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Chip Cookie with Ice Cream offerings but decided on after-dinner drinks instead.
The service was wonderful. Our server was super sweet and humored our ridiculous conversations and cheering on of the Rangers. Everyone around us seemed to be having a great time. A group of girlfriends were drinking wine and laughing at the bar beside us while a friendly double date happened at the next booth over. It was a really nice evening and we’ll definitely be back soon.
